About Bertie

Bertie exists to make pet care easier to navigate. Finding the right care is harder than it should be. The advice online is mostly written to sell you something, prices are strangely difficult to pin down, and the good local professionals are mixed in with everyone else, with little to tell them apart. We're building the place that fixes that.

Where we are now

We're starting with the foundation everything else depends on, which is honest, genuinely useful information. Plain-English guides to treatments and decisions, real prices where we can verify them, and a free directory of registered professionals with no rankings and no pay-to-play. We started with canine hydrotherapy because it's exactly the kind of care where owners need a trustworthy guide most, and we're widening from there, one subject at a time, done properly.

How we research, write and check everything is set out in our editorial standards. The short version is that we'd rather publish less and have you trust all of it.

Where we're going

The longer plan is a platform that serves both sides of pet care. For owners, that means finding, comparing and eventually booking trusted local professionals in one place. For the professionals, it means a fair way to be found by the right customers, and in time, straightforward tools for running the business side of their work.

We're deliberately building it in that order. The content and the directory come first, because they're useful on day one and they earn the trust everything else needs. Each next step gets built when the previous one has proven itself.
